1. Who we are and how to reach us
Ferutz is a brand of Chef Ceber Inc., a company incorporated in Canada with its registered office at 10651 Keele Street, Maple, Ontario, L6A 3Y9, Canada. Chef Ceber is the party responsible for the personal information handled through this website. 2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to personal information collected through this website and through direct messages you send us in connection with it. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or platforms that we do not control, even where we link to them, and it does not apply to information you provide to retailers or distributors that carry our products.
3. Information we collect
We collect only the information you give us and a small amount of technical information needed to operate the site securely.
Information you give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you write.
- Wholesale form: your name, email address, business name, city (optional), and your message.
- Newsletter signup: your email address and your consent to receive marketing email.
- Consent records: where a form requires you to check a consent box, we store the exact wording you agreed to along with the submission.
Information collected automatically: when you submit a form, our server records the date and time, the Internet Protocol (IP) address the request came from, and the browser identification string (user agent). We use this limited technical information to keep a record of consent, to prevent abuse and spam, and to protect the security of the site.
Online orders: when you place an order we collect your name, email address, and shipping address, plus the order contents, so we can fulfil and support your purchase. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider and never touch or persist on our servers; we store only a payment reference. We use essential cookies to keep track of the orders placed from your browser so you can view your order status - these are functional, not tracking, cookies.
Accounts: you can sign in with your email address and a one-time code we send to that address. We never create or store a password, and there is nothing for you to remember or for us to lose. We store the code only as a one-way hash, it expires after ten minutes, and it stops working the moment it is used. Once you are signed in we keep a signed session cookie holding only your email address so the site can show you your own orders and let you review the bags you bought.
Cookies and browser storage: if you sign in, we set one cookie, the session cookie described above. Separately, your browser keeps the contents of your bag, the province you chose for delivery, and your cookie choices, so they survive a page reload. That storage stays on your device and is not sent to us until you check out. Every item is listed, with what it holds and how long it lasts, in our Cookie Policy at /cookies.
What we do not collect: we do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and the site does not set marketing or tracking cookies. The cookie choices panel has switches for analytics and marketing so that, if we ever add either, it can only run after you turn it on, and never before you have been asked. Both are off unless you switch them on, and today nothing sits behind them. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send it to us.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiries, including wholesale requests.
- To send you the newsletter and brand news you have asked to receive.
- To keep a record that you consented to be contacted, as required by law.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and technical problems.
- To comply with our legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not use it for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes described here without asking you first.
5. Consent and legal basis
We rely on your consent to send you marketing email, in keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). When you sign up, you give express consent by checking a clearly worded box, and we keep a record of that consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, as described below. Where we handle personal information, we do so in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable Canadian privacy law.
7. Storage and international transfer
Form submissions and consent records are delivered to and stored in a Chef Ceber email inbox hosted by our email provider. Because that provider is a global company, your information may be stored or processed on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection wherever it is processed.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Enquiry messages are retained while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. Newsletter subscriptions and their consent records are kept until you unsubscribe and for a reasonable period afterward as proof of consent. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. Email between your browser and our provider is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us information you consider highly sensitive.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and ask for a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing email at any time, including by using the unsubscribe option in any email or by contacting us.

11. Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Our site may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This policy does not cover those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any site you visit.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page, and significant changes will be reflected here. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
